Recovery Plan

I am on a mini downswing and the inevitable doubts are creeping in!

To be honest I am pretty good with the mental side of things but it has got me thinking of designing something to help me through these times in the future.

When your computer dies you so wish you had made that back up or reboot/recovery disk that you never got round to so why not try something similar for your poker game?

Here are my initial thoughts:

1. Read relevant sections of the Poker Mindset and Elements of Poker to ensure I am fully embracing the long run.

2. Revert to using FLAG starting hand chart and focus are post flop play.
(FLAG = Flexible Aggressive)

3. Strip HUD down to basic stats.

4. Take a breath and activate REM thought process before each decsion. Snap decisions are a leak!
(REM = Range, Equity, Maximise)

5. Mark all hands where thought process is unclear for later review.

6. Size bets properly.

7. Own souls and run goot :)

Sorry to hear about the DS. If you've got the mental part down, everything else pales, IMO. A lot of the points you mentioned are to help make sure you keep the correct mindset, and don't allow any sort of tilt to make the DS worse than it needs to be. GL.
