Easter

I played almost 15,000 hands over the easter weekend which is huge volume for me.

Mostly this is because I have family visiting from tomorrow and want some time off but I was also experimenting with some longer sessions and I found this to be a worthwhile excersise. I definitely am going to try and play longer sessions when possible to maximise volume and enable me to be more time efficient.

I much prefer playing two 3 hour sessions instead of three 2 hour sessions and found my focus and poker minset actually improved as the sessions went on. I seemed to get in the zone after an hour or so of each session and from then the time just flew by. No looking at results and just in the zone!

So far so frustrating

New Coach

I am pretty happy with my game theses days but I decided after my last shot at 2/4 that I would get some coaching to give me a helping hand next time round.

Yesterday I had my 2nd session with fooz and it was great. We spent 2 hours discussing a big bunch of hands that I had marked up in HEM and there are plenty of areas for me to work on.

I recorded the whole session and will be taking extensive notes over the next few days. There are no doubt a ton of things I missed first time around!

Mini Downswing

This month was going great until I dropped 10buyins over last 4k hands. Am starting to get a little frustrated at things I cannot control (ie losing flips, running way below ev again) and just need a couple of winning sessions to snap out of it.

Until the turnaround I need to make sure I don't let my frustrations boil up into spew........

Have made some more improvements to my session scoring and this is my month so far:



All based on 30 minute checks apart from Reviews which are for the entire session.

So session scoring is back. It didn't actually go away completely as I have been keeping record of my no stats score and acheived 94% for February which would have been 100% if it wasn't for a mini meltdown during the shot at 400nl.....

From March onwards I will be scoring the following:

1. No Stats
2. Table Selection
3. Patience, Zen & The Poker Mindset
4. On A Game
5. Session Enjoyment
6. No notes

All self explanatory apart from probably the last one. I suck so bad at taking notes that I find it is actually -EV for me to take them during the session. I prefer to pay attention to gameflow during the session and make notes afterwards for future reference.
